Mac: “cannot verify” or malware warning?

macOS shows this for apps that are not signed by Apple. SCFI Remote Support is safe — it is the official RustDesk app with SCFI settings added. You only need to allow it once.

Method 1 — Right-click Open (easiest)

  1. In Applications, find SCFI Remote Support.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) the app → choose Open.
  3. Click Open in the dialog (not Cancel).
  4. Next time, double-click works normally.

Method 2 — System Settings

  1. Try to open the app once (you will see the warning).
  2. Open System SettingsPrivacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down; you should see a message about SCFI Remote Support being blocked.
  4. Click Open Anyway, then confirm.

To remove this warning completely for all users, SCFI must sign the app with an Apple Developer account and notarize it with Apple. Contact SCFI IT if you need a fully trusted installer.

After install

  1. Open SCFI Remote Support.
  2. Note your ID and password shown in the app.
  3. Contact SCFI support with your ID and approve the connection when asked.
